Piazza Amedeo · Napoli

The Story

In the heart of Chiaia, on Piazza Amedeo, a small door opens onto what regulars affectionately call “My Kingdom”: vaulted ceilings, warm wood, silver trophies and framed memories of a Naples that still knows how to dress. This is the home of Giorgio Ricciardi and of Ties & Dreams.

Son of an artisan, Giorgio reinvented himself around a single obsession — the Neapolitan handmade tie. Each piece is entirely sewn by hand, in the traditional three or seven folds, and can be made unlined on request. The client chooses everything: the cloth, the length, the pattern. Fabrics are sourced from the great mills of Como and the historic houses of London.

Here a tie is never simply sold. Giorgio takes the time to explain the weave, the workmanship, the story behind every design — and it is not unusual to add a personalised logo on the front, initials sewn discreetly on the back, home delivery across Italy, and even la frizione: a slender cotton thread left at the seam to smooth a tie back to life after it has been knotted.

Guests enter as strangers and leave as friends. That, more than anything, is what Ties & Dreams is about.
